Why I'm fundraising for this voyage

I'm fundraising £5,490 to cover my trip fee for eXXpedition's North Pacific II voyage — sailing from Vancouver to Seattle, 13–20 August 2027. That fee is a non-profit cost that goes straight to eXXpedition: it covers the boat, safety equipment, scientific instruments, food, and the crew training and support that makes it possible for people like me — engineers, not sailors — to run a research vessel together for a week. I'm covering my own flights and visas separately, so every pound raised here goes directly toward the trip itself.

Every donation is collected through this site, into my own account, and paid to eXXpedition in full before the voyage. I built the donation flow myself rather than using a crowdfunding platform, so more of what you give actually reaches eXXpedition instead of going to a platform's fees.
