About me
Why I'm doing this
In August 2027 I'm joining eXXpedition's North Pacific II voyage, sailing from Vancouver to Seattle with a crew of women from different industries and backgrounds, to sample ocean plastic and help trace where it actually comes from.
I trained as an engineer and now work as a software developer, and I've stayed involved in outreach work that tries to make that path easier for other women. This felt like a chance to actually put my studies and experience into practice for a good cause.
“There is no away – because plastic is so permanent and so indestructible. When you cast it into the ocean, there is no away.”
